What is Non-Invasive Fat Removal?

Non-invasive fat removal technologies don’t involve the side effects or recovery time of traditional procedures. Non-invasive fat reduction is now one of the most popular ways to destroy and remove fat cells from the body. Unlike liposuction, these treatments are completely non-surgical. This means scalpels, no need for anaesthetic and no lengthy post-treatment recovery times.

What is subcutaneous fat? Subcutaneous fat is a type of fat that’s stored just beneath your skin. Your skin is made up of three layers – the epidermis, dermis and subcutaneous fat. Subcutaneous fat is the deepest layer of your skin.

What are the options?

Fat Freezing is a non-surgical fat removal treatment that can be performed on the chin, bra fat, flanks, tummy, thighs, back and buttocks crease. The treatment uses controlled cooling too destroy only the fat cells being treated which are then naturally processed and removed by the body. Once the fat cells have been removed, they are permanently destroyed. The treatment can be performed in as little as 35 minutes and involves no downtime allowing patients to immediately return to their everyday activities. Cryotherapy treatments are performed worldwide and it is a FDA approved treatment for fat loss. Fat Freezing has also been clinically proven to reduce up to 27% of fat cells.

Who qualifies for Fat Freezing? An ideal candidate for fat freezing treatment is a patient who has unwanted fat in specific areas or noticeable bulges in areas that they would like to remove. The procedure is not a weight-loss solution and should not be seen as an alternative to diet and exercise.

Which areas can be treated? Across a complete range of body areas including stomach, thighs, love handles, bra fat/back fat, bingo wings or even chin fat.

Ultrasonic or ultrasound cavitation is the use of ultrasound technology to break down fat cells below the skin. It is a non-surgical method of reducing cellulite and localized fat. This procedure involves applying pressure on fat cells through ultrasonic vibrations. The pressure is high enough to make the fat cells break down into a liquid form. The body can then get rid of it as waste through your urine.

How long do ultrasonic cavitation sessions last? Since the procedure is customized according to an individual’s needs, it might take longer for some than others. However, the standard treatment should be completed in four to eight sessions with a week between every session depending on the treatment. Each session is around 45 to 60 minutes. It takes about 6 to 12 weeks to see the results of ultrasonic cavitation.

Ultrasonic cavitation is a safe FDA approved procedure. Since the procedure is non-invasive, there is no downtime needed. The destroyed fat cells do not grow back. The results of ultrasonic cavitation can last with continued weight maintenance activities.

At Milan Skin Clinic, we use Aqualyx®, a fat dissolving injection that works by liquidating fat cells and destroying them permanently. The broken-down cells are then eliminated naturally through the lymphatic system. This treatment is only performed by aesthetic professionals.

How many sessions of Aqualyx do you need? The number of Aqualyx treatments required varies depending on the size of the fatty deposit. Typically, 1-3 treatments for small areas, such as under the chin, and 2-6 treatments for larger areas such as the thighs. Treatments are spaced at 6-8 weekly intervals.

Who’s an ideal candidate for Aqualyx? Aqualyx is intended for those who have good skin elasticity. This is usually (but not always) people 18 to 60 years old. Otherwise, the treatment could cause the skin to appear saggy after injections.

Radio Frequency Fat-melting does not just aid in fat reduction – it can also boost collagen production, reducing cellulite and making the skin look and feel firmer. The treatment can be highly effective for small fatty deposits such as double chins, chubby cheeks, bra back pockets, and cellulite.

How does it work? Radio frequency (RF) delivers a safe electrical current to the treated area via the electrodes on the 3D Lipo Ultimate Pro machine. The RF heats the area and deeply penetrates the skin. Our brain interprets RF as a source of energy, causing the skin to react like a resistor. Heating the cells within a safe range tightens the skin, making it smoother and reducing cellulite.

What areas can be improved with RF? 3D Lipo RF targets areas of fat on the body including the stomach, arms, legs and buttocks. Your therapist will work out a bespoke treatment plan just for you.
